Dear Friends,

Every year we celebrate the continuing publication of The St. Croix Review, and this year we are celebrating our 53nd year of publication! But this year, for the first time ever, in addition to a keynote speaker, we are hosting an afternoon seminar on the topic of “Conserving America.” The afternoon seminar and the evening dinner will be held at the Lowell Inn in downtown Stillwater on October 22.

Mark Koran will be our keynote speaker in the evening. Senator Koran’s topic will be “Understanding the George Floyd Incident and Minnesota Politics.” Mark will review the incident that has inspired so much violence and destruction throughout America this summer. He will evaluate what happened, and offer ideas for reform. He will also discuss the dynamics of the political process, which is an under-appreciated and puzzling aspect of politics. Mark believes that how legislation is made is as important as who is elected.

Mark Koran is a Minnesota State Senator who represents District 32. He is married with 3 children and four grandchildren. He lives in North Branch, Minnesota. He is most passionate about healthcare, education, transportation, energy, taxation, and rural broadband, government effectiveness and elder care.

We will be gathering for the annual dinner reception at 6:00 p.m. The dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m., followed by the speech.

The Lowell Inn has a parking garage next to the Inn that our guests can use free of charge: take the ticket at the garage and exchange it for a voucher at the front desk.

Please consider joining us for a wonderful evening!

Best Wishes,

Barry Myles MacDonald
